Blackjack is a card game at Platinum Play casino of skill and chance, between you and the Dealer. It is played at Platinum Play with between one and six standard decks of cards, depending on the type of blackjack casino game you are playing.
At Platinum Play you can play many types of casino blackjack, including: Atlantic City, Vegas Downtown, Vegas Strip, Multi-hand and Spanish blackjack. These are all played using slightly different rules, but the basics of blackjack are the same.
The aim is to beat the Dealer s hand by either getting a better hand (without exceeding 21) or by the Dealer s hand going bust. Blackjack is when your hand contains an Ace and a card with a value of ten. It is the strongest hand in Blackjack, and automatically stands. It cannot be beaten, only matched.
All face cards - Jacks, Kings and Queens have a value of 10. Aces can have a value of either 1 or 11. You decide what value is more beneficial to your hand.
You may draw up to nine additional cards to make a hand of eleven cards, provided the value of your hand does not exceed 21. If your hand does not exceeded 21 after receiving eleven cards, your hand automatically stands, and the Dealer plays his hand. The Dealer stands on all hands with the value of 17 and draws on all hands with the value of 16.
When your hand and the Dealer s hand tie, it is called a Push. You are paid back your original bet. If both the Dealer and your hand have Blackjack, this is also considered a push, and you are paid out your original bet amount. At Platinum Play, if the Dealer gets Blackjack after you have split or doubled, your entire bet - both the original and double or split amounts, are lost.
To play a game of Blackjack at Platinum Play Online Casino, do the following: Click the Chip Selector arrow buttons to select the chip size you want to bet. Left-click the center betting circle in the play area to select the chip size you want to bet with. To increase your bet, left-click the center betting circle selected again. To reduce or remove a bet, right-click the bet you want to reduce or remove.
Click the Deal button. A hand of two cards is dealt to you, and one card is dealt to the Dealer. Depending on the cards you are dealt and the game rules, different betting options are available. More than one option can be performed, or one option repeated depending on the stage of the game.

Use the Split option if you are dealt two cards with the same denomination, such as two Queens or two Fours and want to Split them into two separate hands. Click the Split button. Your hand is divided into two separate hands and a new card is dealt to each hand. | Use the Double option if your hand has a value of 9, 10 or 11. Click the Double button. A side bet equal to your original bet is placed on the table. You are dealt one card and your hand automatically stands. | Click the Stand button. This ends the play of this hand. | Click the Hit button. You are dealt one card. |
Click the Insurance button. An Insurance bet in online casino blackjack, equal to half your original bet, is placed on the table. You can only use the Insurance option if you do not have Blackjack and the Dealer s first card is an Ace. You take Insurance against the Dealer getting a Blackjack.
Once you have completed your betting options, your hand and the Dealer s hand are compared. The hand with the highest value wins and the winnings are paid.
